How many times has someone said to you, at an emotionally perilous moment, "This is the universe telling me I should do this"?
The universe sometimes speaks with a forked tongue and a cruel heart.
It twists our lives around in ways that we don't understand until years later. That's when we say to our friends: "That must have been the universe telling me to quit Uber." Or: "I'm sure the universe told me to dump Brad. I just didn't know why it told me that."
Amy Schumer and Bill Nye seem to believe that white women in their 20s are most prone to trusting the universe's mercurial orders.
In a new video, Nye attempts to dispel the notion that the universe is a chaotic mess. Instead, "We now know that the universe is essentially a force sending cosmic guidance to white women in their 20s."
The video then explores the different ways the universe has affected these women's lives. It tells them to take calcium. It tells them to keep on having sex with their married boss (Yes, the video is slightly Not Safe For Wives).
The universe is, Nye explains, "a giant dream-board on which women pin their wishes."
And then there are the coincidences that the universe creates, just for our enlightenment. It can tell you to stop paying for cable, for example.
